Like an Egyptian

Top: New Look | Maxi Skirt: River Island | Heels: Primark | Ring: Pandora

I spotted this Egytian print crop top in New Look when I was working on Friday night and for £9.99 (£5.00 with my staff discount), I couldnt' resist. I thought of a million ways I would like to style it before I even took it out of the bag. This was just one idea I had, I thought my maxi skirt with slits up the sides would add a touch of glamour for a night out. I didn't want to over-accessorise this outfit as the print speaks for itself so just added a simple Pandora ring.
I haven't owned a polo-neck top since I was around 8 years old but I think this cut is really flattering. I'm still loving my Zara-dupe Primark heels, they are a perfect feminine touch to an outfit like this and are also great for dressing up a more casual outfit.

*Sorry for the terrible quality of my blog photos, I am useless at posing for other people to take pictures of me, and can't think of a better way to take these kinds of photos myself yet - if anyone has any advice for me I would really appreciate it!

Outfit/Face of the Day

Tee: New Look | Jeans: New Look | Belt: New Look | Bag: River Island | Jacket: Miss Selfridge | Ring: H&M

All credit for these jeans goes to Jenna, who I work with at New Look and looked amazing in this jeans and belt combo, so I copied! If you like this style, I suggest you check out her blog too. I have never owned a pair of boyfriend jeans, I've always worn skinnies as I find them so easy to style. But I have to say, I absolutely love these, the oversized/androgenous look is really trendy and they were only £19.99 from New Look. This bag is also one of my absolute favourites, I use it every day for uni and I've had loads of people ask where it's from and comment that it looks more expensive than it was and that's always a good thing! All my favourite bags are from River Island, I've never seen one in there that I didn't like. I just think the quality is amazing for the price you pay.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (True Ivory) | Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (Transparent) | YSL Bronzing Powder | Rimmel Powder Blush (Pink Rose) | Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen (Black Noir) | Urban Decay Naked Palette (Naked and Buck) | Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara | MAC lipstick (Creme Cup) | Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (02 Light)

I really hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please let me know and I will try and do more like this.
Have a great weekend!

What's in my Wardrobe

I thought I would post something a little bit different today, so here is a look inside my wardrobe. It's a double slide-door mirrored wardrobe from Harveys if anyone is remotely interested ha. In the right side I have all my casul clothes (organised by style, OCD or what ha) and my casual shoes and boots (sorry you can only see the front row of shoes), and underneath I have a strorage box containing my smaller bags as well as my uni stuff and some DVDs. I clear out my wardrobe every few weeks, giving things I don't wear to my little sister, because I buy far too many things and don't have anywhere to put them!

I thought my two pairs of Carvelas deserved a close-up, these were Christmas presents from my Dad over the last two years and I LOVE them.

My new Primark shoes can't fit in my wardrobe yet so until I pick a pair to give to my sister, they are sitting outside.

In the left side of my wardrobe I have my shorts, skirts, long and short dresses and jackets. In that order, yes I'm ridiculously organised. I have all my heels on the shelf underneath and below that I have two storage boxes (the left has all my books in it and the right contains 'memories' and other important things). I also have my pathetic little barbie weights for when I feel like exercising (rarely).
Oh and next to my wardrobe I have a large stack of cosmo magazines which I can't throw out for some reason, I think it's because they're so glossy and pretty. I'm sure you'll see a lot of my clothes appear in future outfit posts :)
So that's what's in my wardrobe, hope you enjoyed this little post.

Hope you're all having a lovely Thursday

Review || Pixi Goodies

Endless Silky Eye Pen in 'Black Noir'
Tinted Brilliance Balm in 'Rose Red'
Nail Colour in 'Fresh Red'

The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen was on my wishlist this month. I saw Zoella mention it in one of her videos, and as a massssive eyeliner fan since around the age of 13, I really wanted to try it out. They claim to give the effect of a liquid liner, but with the ease of a pencil. And they absolutely deliver that. Asos are currently offering this Pixi giftset for only £10.50 (free delivery as always with Asos) which is fantastic considering the eye pen on its own is £9.50 and the brilliance balm is £12.00 from Boots! I really loved the tinted lip balm, it's so moisturising but also really pigmented, providing full coverage like a lipstick. I might have to get one in another colour too. Honestly, I haven't tried the nail polish yet, as I'm not a massive fan of red nails, and am also hugely lazy when it comes to painting my nails! But if the other two products in this set are anything to go by, I expect it will be very good.

February Favourites

Hi everyone, this is the first ever favourites post I have done, since I only started my blog this month.
So here are a run-down of all the beauty products I have been loving this month!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 'True Ivory' - £7.99
Real Techniques Buffing Brush - part of the 'Core Collection' £21.99

I have never been so in love with a drugstore/highstreet foundation. The Rimmel wake me up foundation gives medium, buildable coverage and a lovely dewy, illuminated finish. The Real Techniques buffing brush is also fantastic, I apply my foundation with it every day now and always get a really even finish. Just lovely. So yes, big thumbs up for this combination!

Sleek Makeup lipstick in 'Liqueur' - £4.99
Topshop lipstick in 'Infrared' - £7.99
MAC lipstick in 'Creme Cup' - £14.00

For me, February was definitely the month for expanding my lipstick collection. If any of you read my 'March wishlist' post, you would have seen that there were 3 MAC lipsticks on there, and I MIGHT have purchased all 3 already and its only the 4th. You can probably tell I've used 'Liqueur' quite a lot, its a really wearable pinky nude shade and it has a nice moisturing formula. 'Infrared' featured in my first ever blog post, when I decided to be bolder with my lipstick choices and went for a bright orange. This is definitely one of my favourite lip colours that I own, I really want some more Topshop lipsticks as I only have this one and 'Rio Rio' (an orangey red) so far. And finally, my favourite of my three MAC purchases, 'Creme Cup' which is a really creamy baby pink colour and it smells bloody delicious too! Like vanilla.

Urban Decay Naked Palette - currently £32.40 at Debenams, usually £36.00

Possibly the worst quality photo you've ever seen of the naked palette? Well I'm sure you've seen it before, if you don't own it yourself as it is somewhat of a cult beauty product now, I got it for Christmas off my boyfriend and it is the best eyeshadow palette I've ever had. My most-used shades are probably 'buck' (a pale matte brown), 'smog' (a brown shimmer), 'half baked' (a gold shimmer) and 'virgin' (pale cream/white colour used as a highlight under the brow bone and in my tear ducts).

Sleek Makeup Blush by 3 in 'Lace - £10.00

Sleek makeup does have some great, reasonably-priced products don't they? This blush palette is definitely one of their best. The colours are really pigmented. I often wear the first two colours (the peach shade and the pale pink shade), I haven't tried the brighter pink shade yet as it looks a bit scary but I think if it's applied lightly it might look nice so I will give it a go at some point!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in 'Blueberry' - £3.99
Clarins Daily Energiser Cleansing Gel - £12.00
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in '02 Light' - £4.19

This post was getting rather long so I decided to combine my final 3 favourites into one picture! 'Blueberry' is my favourite nail colour to date, it is a gorgeous sky blue colour, and the gelly nail paints really are very shiny. I'll post a little picture of it on my nails actually.

See - so shiny! (Looks slightly purple on this picture, it isn't)

The Clarins cleanser was part of a 3-piece gift set that I got from my friend for my 20th birthday in December and its the first cleanser I've ever used. I really like it, it smells lovely and it leaves my skin feels refreshed and hydrated. And finally, the Collection lasting perfection concealer, another cult product amongst beauty bloggers. This is so good for a drugstore concealer! Really good coverage, covers my horrible dark circles quite nicely. However, as you can see, the packaging is not very good as the writing rubbed off after around a week of using it... But the product inside is fantastic for the money and I will definitely be re-purchasing it when I run out.

So that's it! Sorry it was so long, if you made it all the way to the end of this post, then thanks so much for reading my ramblings!

What do you think of these products? What is in your February favourites?

Camel Blouse and Peep Toes

 Blouse: Topshop (old)
Disco Pants: River Island
Leather Jacket: Miss Selfridge
Heels: Primark
Earrings: Topshop
Watch: Fossil
Bag: River Island

Not a very exciting outfit, I know but I thought I would share it with you anyway. This is what I wore to go for a meal with the New Look family, as one of the girls is leaving :(
My favourite part of this outfit is definitely my new heels from Primark, my cousin was wearing them at a family party recently and they looked so good, I just had to get a pair for myself. They're only £12 and I think they look really nice on. I never normally wear heels like this, I'm more of a stiletto kind of girl but I really like these. My watch was an 18th birthday present so it's quite special to me and it goes with everything.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! What did you get up to?

L'Oreal Super Dust
L'Oreal PlayBall 'beach fizz'
Tresemme Salon Smooth Serum
Sleek Face Contour Kit
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Nars 'Laguna' Bronzer
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
No 7 Light Up Mirror
MAC Lipsticks in 'Creme Cup', 'Blankety' and 'Shy Girl'

I only got paid yesterday and I've actually already purchased some of these! I've got a problem. I've already bought the No 7 light up mirror which is fantastic, especially for doing your eyebrows because one side if magnified x5. I've bought the MAC lipstick in 'Blankety' which is a really nice pinky-nude colour, really wearable. That is the first MAC lipstick I've ever owned, can you believe it? I intend to start a proper collection this month. I've also just ordered the Pixi endless silky eye pen from Asos as they had a gift set offer on so I got the eye pen in 'black noir', as well as a lipstick and a nail polish for £10.50 - pretty good when the eye pens on their own are £11!

Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? What is on your beauty wishlist this month?
