Real Techniques || A Real Bargain!

I couldn't not blog about this because I'm so impressed and pleased with this purchase!
I saw a post by Charissa (www.charissarae.com) saying that she had found some absolute bargains on an American website called iHerb.com so I thought I would check it out.
I've been dying for some Real Techniques brushes and intended to buy some when I got paid this month (tomorrow), but then I saw them on iHerb and they were so much cheaper than they are in Boots! The core collection (set of 4 brushes) is £21.99 in Boots and only $17.99 on iHerb which works out as £11.87! The powder brush was a lot cheaper too, and with shipping all the way from America, the whole thing only cost me £22.62. I am so chuffed with this, can you tell?
They even sent me a little lollipop, how cute.

Real Techniques core collection: $17.99 at iHerb (£11.82)

Real Techniques powder brush: $9.99 at iHerb (£6.59)

I was a bit wary at first because I don't like buying from websites that I've never heard of, and I've never ordered beauty products from all the way in the US but I am so pleased with this order. I was expecting the shipping to take up to a few weeks but I ordered on Friday and the package arrived today (Wednesday)! You can also track your order online if you use DHL for shipping like I did.

For anyone who wants to order from iHerb, I also received a discount code that can be used by first-time buyers on their first purchase - you get $10 off if you spend over $40 or $5 off if you spend under $40. Here is the code: QCG185

Leather and Monochrome

Tee: H&M
Leather skirt: H&M
Heels: New Look
Clutch bag: River Island
Necklace: New Look

I went for a night out in Newcastle last night for my best friend's 21st birthday and I was so excited to wear my new skirt for the first time. I loved the leather skater skirts that have been big recently but after some unlucky ebay bidding wars I gave up on owning one. Then I saw this leather mini skirt in H&M and loved it, and it's a bit different. I also bought this monochrome striped clutch bag this week and then found a gorgeous matching necklace when I was at work (in New Look) yesterday.
Oops sorry for the bobble on my wrist, that's not very trendy is it. But it is handy.

Anyway, here's a lovely picture of me getting ready with my Remington heated rollers in.

Sexy and I know it.. HA

Review || YSL False Lash Effect Mascara

YSL Mascara for a False Lash Effect: £23.00

One of my friends works for YSL and she convinced me to try my first ever high-end mascara in September 2011 when I met her, and I can honestly say I have never loved a mascara more than this one. It really does what it says in the title, keeping my lashes looking long and full all day. As a girl who CANNOT apply false lashes and often ends up with them stuck on her forehead, this product is a lifesaver. Also, the one time I did wear false lashes (applied for me by the friend I mentioned above), I could feel/see them all night and felt like I had really hairy eyebrows! Anyone else have that experience? Just me? Moving on.

I've now used 3 tubes of this mascara so I am trying to save it for nights out or days when I am wearing less/no other eye make-up and want to make my eyes stand out more (for day-to-day use I am using Rimmel's Lash Accelerator mascara). I've also tried the 'High Density Black' version of this mascara, which claims to give lashes a more 'intense and glamorous' look but I personally found that to make my lashes a little too clumpy and wet.

I've tried a lot of YSL products but this is definitely my favourite and I can't see a time in the future when I won't re-purchase this mascara.
What's your go-to mascara?

Uni Days

Tee: New Look
Jeans: New Look
Boots: Topshop
Necklace: Topshop

I was really naughty on Monday and skipped my first two lectures in favour of a lie-in.
Not a very exciting outfit today but I'm still practicing this blogging thing ha.
A large amount of the clothes I own are from New Look because I work there and get a very generous 50% staff discount - who could resist that? Although New Look isn't my favourite shop on the high street, I do think it is underrated and sometimes has some really nice and reasonably priced clothes/shoes. Since I'm there 3/4 times a week I suppose I get to see a lot more of what they have to offer so can pick out the items that I like.
I'm really loving these boots at the minute, they are so comfortable. They actually belong to my sister but I am slowly stealing them since she rarely wears them ha.

Friday Afternoon Drinks

Leather Jacket: Miss Selfridge
Midi Dress: Miss Selfridge
Boots: New Look
Bag: River Island

Terrible quality photos I know, but this was my outfit for heading to the local bar for some lunch and cocktails. I love midi dresses at the minute, I've bought so many recently, but this Miss Selfridge midi was the first I ever purchased (some time last year) xo

Orange Lips

Until last year, I was never that bothered about lipstick. Shock. When I did start wearing it, I tended to stick to nudes and pale pinks (pretty safe match for my pale skintone and blonde hair, I thought). This year I've decided to be braver with makeup/fashion, in line with the start of this blog, and I'm having a lot of fun so far.
I invested in this orange lipstick from Topshop (shade: infrared), and I LOVE it.

 Topshop Lipstick: £8.00

I really like the packaging of these lipsticks too (I should point out that I get really excited over pretty new things, including the packaging). It's very simple but stylish, like a lot of Topshop's products.

At first I thought that orange lipstick was only wearable with tanned skin, but I actually think it pops quite nicely against a paler skintone too.
Now I want to buy allll the Topshop lipsticks, and I've even invested in a lipstick holder to display them on my dressing table (ebay £2.18 including delivery).

Can anyone recommend any other shades from the Topshop collection?
