Hi everyone, so sorry I haven't posted in almost a week! I'd been revising for my upcoming uni exam (psychological research methods and analysis, woohoo!) and then I was at work all weekend.
Today I thought I would put together my current beauty wishlist for you using the website www.beautysets.com which I originally found on Kayleigh's blog (Couture Girl). This website is great for making your own collages, mixing and matching products that you love from all over the internet. This was my first go at using this website so my collage is pretty basic, and certainly not perfect (hello strange grey splodge in top right corner) but it will do for a first attempt. This post is really about the products anyway! So here's what I am lusting after at the minute:
MAC 217 Blending Brush
Ever since I started watching Tanya Burr's makeup tutorials on Youtube, I knew one day I was going to cave in and buy this brush. She uses it in almost every video she makes for blending her eyeshadow and it just looks perfect. I had a little feel of it at my local MAC counter too and it is so soft. Now at £17.00, it's definitely on the pricey side but I know I would get so much use out of it (girl maths: if I use the brush every day for 3 months, that means I've only paid around 2p per use!). Girl maths makes everything seem more reasonable.
YSL Rouge Volupté/Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick
These lipsticks are every beauty junkie's dream. The product is rich, moisturising and pigmented, and the packaging... Do I need to talk about how luxurious the packaging is? I need one of these displayed on my dressing table. I have swatched these so many times at various YSL counters but I still haven't decided which shade I want or whether I want to buy from the original Rouge Volupté range or YSL's latest offering, the Rouge Volupté Shine range. My friend from university works for YSL so I'm going to see her on Wednesday so she can try some shades on me and I'll make my decision then.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
I've seen so many of my favourite beauty bloggers raving about this foundation over the last few months but I haven't gotten around to trying it at a counter yet. Probably because I didn't even realise there was a Space NK shop in Newcastle until my friend told me 2 weeks ago. Apparently it gives a really natural looking finish whilst still providing medium coverage which sounds perfect to me.
YSL Cream Blush
I've been after a cream blush for quite a while now. I've always stuck to my trusty powder blushes in the past but I think cream blushes look so natural and glowy, and Spring is the perfect season to try one, I think. I intended to go for a drugstore cream blush to start off with (maybe Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush), but then I spotted these... I will be giving these a go on my trip to YSL on Wednesday and if I love them (which no doubt I will), I might have to invest.
Moroccanoil Oil Treatment for All Hair Types
This has been on my wishlist for months now but I just couldn't bring myself to take the plunge and buy the 100ml bottle for £30. It just seems like so much for a hair product, even though I've paid around the same amount for bronzers, mascaras, foundations etc (logic?). This week I came to the decision that I'm going to buy the 25ml bottle instead for £12.85 as supposedly it lasts a really long time and £12 won't make me feel so guilty. This product is meant to be a miracle worker, leaving hair silky and shiny without any greasy residue. I cannot wait to try it.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
I'd say my skin type is normal to dry. Sometimes I do get dry patches on my cheeks, nose and forehead so I've been trying to keep my skin really hydrated with a new moisturiser from Vichy (to be featured in a post this week). I love the idea of skin masks, I just automatically associate them with luxury and relaxation - the perfect Sunday night product. This one is loved by so many bloggers, and I really do value all of your opinions so this month I intend to add this to my skincare routine.
Have you tried any of these products? Would you recommend them?

Let me tell you...you NEED MAC 217. It is probably my most used brush ever. It works phenomenally too. Moroccan oil is also very nice, especially if you want your hair to dry faster! It smells really good too. I have always wanted to try an YSL cream blush too but the price! Eep definitely a treat and not a need :)
ReplyDeleteI bought the 217 today ;)! ha xx
DeleteI love YSL, I have a lot of their lipsticks.
