Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub £5.25 and Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé £1.99
This combination has worked wonders for my lips. After only a week of using these two products, my lips are so much softer and I feel like the effects are really lasting.
The bubblegum lip scrub is a product I've seen featured on a few blogs recently. Like all Lush products, this scrub is handmade. The ingredients include castor sugar and organic jojoba oil as well as flavouring and colourings that give the scrub it's delicious bubblegum scent/taste and it's bright pink colour. I use my finger to apply this product to my lips and scrub until my lips are soft and most of the product is gone (I recommend dampening your finger with water first as this makes it easier for the scrub to stick to your finger before you apply it). The instructions for use recommend licking off the excess scrub, which seems to be some people's favourite part (my boyfriend and best friend have both tested this for me and commented on how delicious it tasted). The first time I tried this I thought it tasted a bit checical-ly (I hope you know what I mean), but I've tried it a few times since and I do actually like the taste now. In the picture it kind of looks like it would be a bit sticky but it really doesn't have a sticky consistency at all, more like sugar but slightly thicker.
Overall this scrub is perfect for buffing away the dry skin on your lips before applying a balm and I will continue to use it 3/4 times a week to keep my lips in their newly soft, nourished condition.
I was in need of a new lip balm since I had lost my Vaseline so decided to try the new lip butters by Nivea which I've seen a few bloggers review recently. These come in four flavours - Original, Caramel Cream, Vanilla & Macadamia and Raspberry Rosé. I couldn't decide which to go for as Caramel Cream does sound delicious but I was worried it would be a bit sickly. I decided on Raspberry Rosé although I was a bit worried that it would be tinted and colour my lips which I personally don't like in a lip balm (I wear a lot of lipsticks so I like to get my colour from these and use lip balms purely for hydration). But this lip balm isn't tinted at all, despite it's baby pink colour. It is really great for moisturising my lips and it smells and tastes so good! It has a totally different consistency to Vaseline (which has a jelly, almost greasy texture), it's a lot more of a cream consistency, which I suppose can be expected from the name 'lip butter'. The combination of these two products has really transformed my lips from dry and chapped to soft and smooth.
Finally! Matte lipsticks COME AT ME.
I'm so impressed with these lip products, I think they are great value for money and really do their jobs well. I will definitely be re-purchasing when I've used them up, which I don't think will be too far into the future as I can't stop applying them both!
Have you tried these products? Did they work well for you too?

I really want to try the lush one, but I have a massive fear of going into lush because as soon as you walk in, about 20 shop assistants jump on you asking if you need help and I HATE THAT. This is the reason, and only reason, I have never bought anything from lush =)
